Where Do You Place Your Cat's Litter Box?

As a cat owner, one of your most important jobs is to make sure your cat has a clean, comfortable litter box. It can be difficult to decide where to put your cat's litter box, though.

You could put the litter box in a contained space, such as the bathroom, laundry room, or basement. Due to the litter box's concealment, the area is less likely to smell. It might be difficult for your cat to get there, though, if they are old or have mobility issues.

Or you could put the litter box in a public space, such as a living room, bedroom, or hallway. This location will make it simpler for your cat to use the litter box and may also serve as a helpful reminder for you to clean the box frequently. On the other hand, the litter box might be more noticeable and unsightly.

You could even put more than one litter box around their house so their cat has more options.

So, where do you put your cat's litter box? Do you have any tips for finding the perfect location? Or have you faced any challenges with litter box placement?

When we had my cat, we had two litter trays for her, one was placed under the stairs for her on the bottom floor and then we would have another placed upstairs for her in a little corner we had so that she had the ability to use either one depending on where she was. With her getting older she would have days where she would stay upstairs more and having a litter tray upstairs for her made it easier for her.

We have quite a few litter boxes around the house so that they all have one that can be used. We have some upstairs and some downstairs as well and we find that works well for our cats when they need to use the litter tray and may not be able to get outside at the time.

We have two litter boxes per cat in our house, we keep one of them upstairs for them and another downstairs as well. We regularly keep them cleaned out so that they do not get fussy about using them and they are quite happy with that layout.

I have 3 litterboxes in house kept in different places for them to make use of whenever they need to poo or wee. I have one in the room, in the dinning and one in the hall way. I don't want them running from the room to the hallway when they want to poo.

I have two litter boxes. My house isn't that big, otherwise I would have had more. The two of them have one upstairs and one downstairs. This makes it easier for my cats to have one to use whether they are upstairs or downstairs.

My cats litter trays are placed in the corners of each room in my house. They don't have to be ruining to the only room it's in for them to use it. It makes it easy for them to use it in any room they find themselves.
