Is your cat a hunter?

We have a cat that lives a few doors down from where I live and he is a great cat but he is also a pretty big hunter. We always tend to see him sitting in the long grass sitting and waiting for ages until he sees something like a mouse and then he attacks.

There have been a few times when he has caught a mouse and then either taken it home or even brought it to us as a gift as we sometimes take him in if his owners are at work and he is out in the bad weather. A gift is what they believe it to be but for us, not so much!

Is your cat a hunter? Have you ever had a cat that was a hunter?

I don't usually allow my cats to go outside but I believe that they have hunting skills because whenever I have any kind of insects that manages to come inside my house, they will always kill it and drag it out and start playing with it. This is how I know they are very good at hunting.

Yes, my cats can hunt very well. They have killed lots rats and spiders in my house. I used to set mouse trap but with my cats grown, they make it easier. One of my cats don't kill his prey, he only plays with them until he's tired.

I haven't seen a cat that doesn't know how to hunt. It's in their instincts to be predator to some of their prey. My cats have killed lizards, wall gecko, rats, cockroaches and spiders.

It is only one of my cat that is a hunter among the 3 of them. He is the one that is the most aggressive. I think it's more of a protector and that is why he usually act all aggressive on everything. I've seen him kill a big rat once that entered into my house without needing any help from the others.

When my cat was alive, I can say she's a mild hunter because it's only round the house that she can hunt for anything which she sees as a disturbance.
