How do you deal with cats waking you up in the middle of the night for food?

Something I never had to deal with when we had Smokey was her waking in the middle of the night wanting food, we always used to feed her at a certain time on a night so that she would sleep through until morning without needing food.

All cats are different and whilst some cats may be able to sleep through the night without needing food, some cats will wake for food in the night.

If your cat wakes in the middle of the night wanting food, how do you deal with that?

I can never deal with that. Myself as a human being don't wake up to eat late night food and I won't allow my pet to disturb my sleep for that. Smiley understand the game and don't disturb about midnight food though I used to give her enough at night.
