Have your cats ever scratched your wallpaper?

So something I noticed with both of my cats is how they tend to like scratching my wallpaper. I am pretty sure it is the kind of wallpaper that it is as they always go for the corners of the walls and scratch on those areas as they can get grip on those areas. I usually tell them off when I spot them doing it but there are times when I am not around to tell them to stop.

Have you ever had an issue with your cats scratching at your wallpaper? If so, how did you deal with it?

Maybe because I am lucky, or simply because we've always kept them busy with other activities. I have never had the experience of my cats scratching my wallpaper at home.

Despite me having a scratching post, toys, and a laser pen for Smokey and we would keep her entertained as much as we could, she still went for my wallpaper. Not so much in areas that were flat but in areas like a corner.

We did manage to get her somewhat out of it but she would always try and be sneaky and do it if she thought no one was watching.

I can't say that I have had an issue with my cats scratching my wallpaper but I do know it is something that can happen as I know a few people who have cats and have had the scratching of the wallpaper issue.

It always seems to be on a corner where they can grip better much like you stated. Some of my friends ended up getting a scratch post that could be attached to the wall that would allow them to still scratch but it would not affect the wallpaper.

I had one of these scratching posts myself, I picked on up from a store near me when I saw they had them in and thought it would be a good idea. It was at first and she would scratch it when I placed it where she would scratch the wall paper but after a while, it does wear down and she somehow managed to get to the wallpaper again as well.

What is the solution then? I am asking because I may encounter such behavior in my cats in the future.

There's nothing in my house that's beyond the limit for my cat not to scratch them. It's why I make use of sprays on almost all my stuffs they usually love to scratch. It deters them from going anywhere near them. They almost destroyed my couch 🛋 a while ago and it was those sprays that saved me.

Fortunately, I don't have or use wallpapers in my house. So, this worry is off my list. My whole house is painted and cats don't scratch paints or should I say that my cats don't scratch my wall paints. They scratch my bed and that can be very annoying.

I envy those who still live in houses with no wallpapers because they have nothing to worry about if they have cats. Seeing their wallpapers messed up won't happen since there's none for the cats to scratch.

I saw the picture online some dags ago and couldn't believe a cat is capable of doing that to a furniture.

I would be worried living in the same house with any cat that's capable of doing something like this to a furniture. This is damn too serious, I can't have it with my cat no matter how much I love them, they are not allowed to do something like this.

It is a very common thing for cats to scratch wallpapers and even some furniture in the house which is why you have to find a way to make your cat not feel comfortable being around those furnitures that they normally used to go and scratch.

I have managed to set up three scratching posts in my house in order to make it easier for them to have where they scratch on instead of going to scratch on my furniture or my wallpaper. I don't like having to do decoration all the time because I couldn't provide where they can scratch all the time.

This really take the cat some sleepless nights to do. And the cat won't do it in the morning, it's always at night😂. It's it's my cat, I won't forgive him at all.
