Have you ever taught a cat to sit?

So something many people are not aware of is that you can teach cats to do things such as sit, lay down, and such much like you can a dog. With cats though, it does take a little more as they seem to be a little more stubborn than dogs but it is possible.

I have been able to teach a cat that my mum took in when I was a kid to sit and he would always sit when told to if he wanted something. I was also able to teach my cat that I had, Smokey to sit when she wanted something as well.

Have you ever been able to teach a cat to sit or any other things?

I have not been able to teach any tricks to any of the cats that I have ever owned, but that's because I have never taken the time to do so, lol. I had a cat years ago that learned to kiss me on the lips whenever I puckered up my lips, but that was more because of repetition (me kissing him all the time), although I like to think is because he loved me!!!

It was actually a lot more easier for me to teach my dog how to sit, shake and spin around at command. But it's quite hard for me to do it with my cat. I don't know if I need a different teaching technique for my cat because what obviously worked for my dog isn't doing jack with my cat.

I have never been able to teach any of my cats to do any tricks, they seem to be too stubborn to want to learn anything or even pay attention to me when I try. I have known people though to teach their cats a lot of things and I guess it really does depend on the cat.

It is very much possible but it can take quite a bit of time depending on whether your cat will want to listen. Some cats can be stubborn but using treats can always persuade them to do something.

Most of these tricks are possible, but you have to be patient with them to learn it at a point in time. This is because it will take a couple of time for them to master it.

You would have to be very patient when it comes to training your cat or even any other pets to do some tricks. It's never easy with them. Although, it seems a little bit easier with dogs than cats but that doesn't mean cat's can't be trained to do same things too.

I think dogs are fast learners than cat. However, cats will want to do their best to learn that which you are planning to teach them as well.

Pets can actually learn anything you teach them. Some of them might be slow learners while some might might be fast. It's all on your commitment to getting them learn and not get frustrated that's going to matter.

This is true. The most important thing is being patient with the cats. Some of them won't like to be shout at when you are teaching them and being considerate of their learning speed will make a lot of difference.

I've been trying to teach my cat how to sit on instruction but I have not been able to succeed in doing that over the last couple of years that we have been trying and eventually I have decided to give up because it is not working. I find it that it is easier for dogs to learn such instructions better than cats.

Unfortunately, my cats wasn't interested in learning how to sit on command unless they wanted to do on their own. After trying for a while, I stopped wasting my time.

Cats are not faster learners. Dogs can emulate their owners even without being taught. As curious as they are, they also don't like stress unless you have rewards for anything you asked them to do.
