I have a friend like that as well that believes cats are quite ominous. He even believes that they are somehow responsible for strange occurrences around them.
I wouldn't blame your mother because they also act such in some movies which backs up the thought. A lot of strange things happens in the spirit world and cats might play a role in them.
I have a friend that have same issue. She doesn't like cats not any pets around her. She was chased by a dog when small and that create a very deep fear in her and since then, she has been afraid of animals.
See? No doubt you are trying to play it safe by being as distant from pitbulls as possible. Who can blame you? Once bitten, twice shy. That's exactly what my friend is doing.
This is just pure wickedness, nothing else. It is blatant animal brutality, if you don’t like them then stay away from them completely.
It's not about having time. It was just fear because some people are afraid that cats will spit on them, dogs will bite them and other pets will kill them. That's their mindset and it made them not to come closer to animals.
