I have noticed that my cats used to drink more water during the winter season more than they do in any other season of the year. I have been observing them throughout the year and this seems to be a surprise. Why do you think cats drink more water in winter? I would assume they are supposed to drink more during the summer.

Which season of the year does your cats drink more water?

Unfortunately, I can't be able to say if my cats drink more water in the winter. Although, I would just assume they drink more when the weather is hot and they are thirsty. So, they should drink more in the summer than in the winter.

My cats always drinks well because they like staying hydrated. One of them likes to come and drink my bathing shower water whenever it's running. I wouldn't want them feeling thirsty.

I don't ever remember Smokey drinking more water during the winter but all cats are very much different and I would imagine some cats may drink more during the winter than during any other time of the year.

Smokey always used to drink more during the warmer months.

My cats always drinks water moderately. It doesn't matter which season of the year, they always stay well hydrated. I'm happy about it because it helps with their digestion and pooing well.

It is normal for them to drink more water when the weather is warm or hot because they are going to be dehydrated very fast and if they also play too much, they will need to drink enough water.

There is always a cool off period for my cats which is when I normally give them water to drink and also sprinkle some water on their body if I believe that the weather is too hot and I'm probably not in the mood to give them a bath at that moment.

It is why I always make provision for water to be available for them to drink at all times. I make sure that the water is changed frequently so that they wouldn't feel like the water is no longer good for them.

This is a good habit to have. It is always wise to ensure your cats have clean and fresh water daily. I know when we had Smokey, she preferred bottled water to tap water so we would always use that.

This is true, I have heard a lot about people who provide cold bottled water for their cats in the hotter months, especially if you get really hot days.

It doesn't matter if it is winter or summer or even any season of the year, when it comes to drinking water, my cat usually take enough water because they always like staying hydrated.

My cat drinks more water not minding the season. I am also ready to fill her water whenever I see that it's going down to avoid her being dehydrated.

My kittens are always very hyrated. I always keep water around for them to drink whenever they feel like it. They play a lot which makes them drink often.

I never paid attention to this, this is like the opposite behavior of humans. We stay hydrated during the winter and during more fluids during the summer.

There is less dehydration during the winter, so I'll find it strange if my cats drink more water than usual.

Cats also drinks like humans because they are also thirsty in winter. If you paid attention, you will always see them going to drink water.

All I know is that my cats always do their best to drink water whenever they are thirsty and I make the provision of the water to be placed where they are to drink it when they want to.
