Why did you choose cats over other pets?

I am curious as to what made everyone choose cats as their pets. I chose cats over dogs because I love the fact that I don't have to do the extra works like walking the dogs.
I also love the cleanness of the cats as I can have them on my beds.

Cats are rather calm pets. I feel like I can also share my personal space with them and get closer to them more than other pets.

I like cats mainly because of their calm nature. They are lovely pet that I can stay with in the house without being too scared of anything.

Cats mostly like being independent. They are not too clingy like dogs, although some cats are. It's one of the best things I love about cats more than any other pets.
