In 1963 a stray Parisian cat went into space. We have all learned of monkeys and dogs going into space, but for some reason a cat going to space is not brought up often. On October 18th 1963 Felicette, also known as ‘Astrocat’ was the first and only cat to go to space. If you're interested you can get more information here

Was she in heat? My mom had a cat that will make the strangest and weirdest sounds when she was in heat, eventually she was spayed / fixed and it stopped.

We wouldn't know as it was at the early stages when we have almost zero knowledge on how to rear cats. It was strange for me too at that first instance.

I'm not sure if most of us are aware that cats have more ear muscles than human beings. A cat have 32 muscle to control their outer ear while human beings have only 6. This helps them to independently rotate their ears 180 degrees.

This is an interesting fact! I will take this as something that also mean that cats hear more than we do.

Their retractable claws are made of keratin and that's one of the tough protein we have. They use scent marking to claim ownership.
