As cat owners, we all know that cats are naturally curious creatures. They love exploring their surroundings and getting into all sorts of mischief. While this can be endearing, it's important to remember that some household items can pose serious health risks to our cats.

Here are some common household items that cats should avoid getting into:

Cleaning products: Many cleaning products contain chemicals that can be toxic to cats if ingested. Make sure to keep all cleaning products securely locked away in a cabinet or closet.

Human food: Some human foods, such as chocolate and grapes, can be toxic to cats. Make sure to keep all human food out of reach of your cat, and never feed your cat table scraps.

Plants: Certain plants, such as lilies and poinsettias, can be poisonous to cats if ingested. Make sure to research which plants are safe for your cat to be around, and keep any poisonous plants out of your cat's reach.

Yarn and string: While yarn and string may seem like harmless toys for cats to play with, they can actually pose serious health risks if ingested. If a cat swallows a piece of yarn or string, it can cause blockages in their digestive system, which may require surgery to remove.

These are just a few examples of common household items that can be dangerous to cats. As cat owners, it's important to be aware of these risks and take steps to keep our furry friends safe.

Have you ever had an experience with your cat getting into a dangerous household item? What steps do you take to ensure your cat's safety in your home? What other household items are dangerous to cats?

I cannot tell you the amount of times we have had to stop and do a quick Google search in our phones right before buying a plant. We never go out looking for plants but when we see a beautiful healthy plant, we gotta take a look at it and consider buying it, we love plants. We have 3 cats and for some reason one of them loves to play and lick our plants and sometimes she takes a bite or two, so buying a plant always depends on whether or not it is safe for cats.

It is amazing just how careful you have to be when buying things for your home, whether it be a plant, some kind of air freshener or even some kind of cleaner.

When we had Smokey, I was always checking things to be sure if I used it, it wouldn't make her ill if she accidentally came into contact with it.
