I can confirm that about the dogs. The dogs don't even need any kind of special training before they can understand human communication. But I'm not sure it is the same with the cats. Might have to research more on that.

Animals need special training both dogs and cats. The only reason why it's easier with dogs are the easiest way to communicate with them but with cat, you need all hands on deck before they can be what you want from them.

Cats are more independent than dogs. It's why they sometimes want to do things in their own way and there's nothing you can do as their owner to change it.
