Breeding cats is something I have never done as all the cats we always have had ensured they were either spayed or neutered so that they would not fall pregnant. My brother, on the other hand, has done so with a cat he had with a girlfriend he had and that was how we got Smokey he offered me a kitten and I chose the one we chose.

What would you say your biggest worries are when you allow a cat you own to breed?

I have had friends in the past that have breeder cats and my Mum also when I was a kid bred cats as well she used to get me involved with things when the cat was giving birth and also taking care of the kittens.

Since I have had my own cats, I have not allowed them to breed as I know I would not have the time to dedicate to taking care of them or the kittens when the time came.

If people are going to breed cats I think responsible breeding means finding good homes for the kittens and making sure they get the care they need from a vet.
However, I'm not particularly fond of people breeding cats when there are already so many in need of homes.

I read that cat breeding is a good experience that one should try out. While I have not done it before, it is something that I am looking forward to doing in the nearest future.

I have only done it once before getting both my cats spayed and neutered in order to prevent having unnecessary kittens all over the places and to also reduce health risk for my cats. I needed the single breed from my cats to save their linage.

Having lots of kittens around can be challenging to handle unless you've got people that will want to adopt them, which is not easy as it sounds too.

You're going to be putting the life of the mother cat at risk for breeding too much. It's not safe for them as it cuts down on their lifespan. It's why having them neutered is very important.

Breeding cats isn't my thing. There are so many cats in shelter homes spread across the world. They need home and you and I that are meant to adopt them. We need to do more in taking those cats away from shelter homes and absorbed into our homes. It's why I don't breed.

I would have done it once or twice but since my grandma takes pride in doing it, I have no reason to do so too. I got all my cats from her and they are all very lovely. I think there's a big attachment which comes with breeding your own cats.

I've bred my cat once and she gave birth to 4 kittens. I had to keep two of them while I gave my mother and brother the other two of them. After that encounter, I stopped my cat from getting pregnant.

I haven't bred a cat then but my grandma did with her cat. She take care of her cat till she gave birth to her kittens. I have not done it before even though it's a nice experience.
