I recently found out that the kind of food cats are fed usually makes them to gain more weight faster. I noticed that when I started feeding my cats dried food, they began adding weight very quickly to the point where they became overweight. I had to take them to the vet and figure out what's the best way to get them lose weight.

One of our 3 cats is overweight. They all get the same food, at the same time every day and they also get the same treats, yet only ONE of them stuffs his face with the food like there's no tomorrow.. and on top of that he is not very athletic. There is a big difference in their sizes, 7 pounds, 11 pounds and 16 pounds! Cats are just like people!

I've been lucky with my cats. None of them have had the challenges of being overweight. They eat well and are also very athletic. They can play all day and I'm sure this helps to keep their weight in check.

When I was younger, I managed to persuade my mum to take in a cat that had been left by its owner after they moved out. We left it a little while but when we realized they were not coming back for the cat, we knew the cat was homeless.

Due to how he was treated, he became quite greedy and used to eat his own food and then steal the food of the other cat we had back then and he did become overweight. He was put on diets throughout his life and lived until he was 18 years old.

Nah, she haven't been overweight since I knew her. She don't eat much and there's nothing found by the vet as the result of over feeding.
