It's natural for cat's to bury their poops. It's a habit that gets very strong especially when they were taught by their mother as kittens to bury their poop. But if they are not, they would most likely use the litter can unless they are communicating with other cats that bury their own poop. It's a nature vs nurture thing as far as I can tell it.

I started taking care of my cats when they were just kittens. So, they are not with the knowledge of having to bury their poop. They make use of their litter always and I make sure that they are clean all the time. I know that cats are very sensitive to dirt.

This is going to make it less stressful for you when it comes to cleaning out their litter tray. When they don't use it, there's a good chance they might end up doing it somewhere around the house in a hidden spot which isn't going to be easy for you to find.

When I had my cat, she would either cover it or she would leave it, it would depend on her mood at the time I felt. Usually, if she never covered it herself I would do so and then clear it out. I was always sure to ensure she had a clean litter tray, even the slightest of dirt left she would refuse to use her litter tray.

Both of my cats will always ensure that they bury their poop when they have used their litter tray. They will no leave the litter tray until they know it is covered and they are happy that it is. I always check their litter boxes numerous times throughout the day so that I know they are clean as with them burying their poop, it can be difficult to know sometimes if they have used it.

My cats learnt how to inform me whenever they are done with pooing by meowing for me to come and take care of their litterboxes and empty them.

They have never had to bury their poo and I'm happy with their pooing behaviour. It makes it easy for me.

When I got simba and luna, they liked burying their poop once they are done. I had to nurture them on how to use their litter can and even when it took time, they adjusted simply because I will not be happy with them, if they do otherwise.

Teaching your cats any form of behaviour take time and patience from your side. It's not something you would force. I learnt when I was teaching my cats to wee in their wee can. It took time before they started applying what I taught them.

This has made me begin to wonder how long does it take cats to learn new attitudes when compared with the other animals? Maybe it is because I have not had the rest of the animals.

There's no way you can be able to put specifics time on when they would be able to learn. Some of them learn faster while some would struggle so much and take a longer period of time to learn.

This is another angle to look at it. One can't really take that it is a must that they are going to learn within a time range. However, when you consider the efforts that are involved, you will achieve more when you invest more time.

One thing I've learnt in all my years of keeping and taking care of cats is that you can't pressure them into doing anything. It's going to be a gradual process with their learning. If you over play it, they will turn on you.

If your cats are the outdoor type of cats, there's a very big chance they will learn how to bury their poo. They will mingle with other outdoor cats and it's how they will learn how to bury their own poo.

I haven't seen any of my cat's bury their poop. At least, it's not something that can be done inside my home because they can't dig on the concrete floor 🤣.

They might have done something like that outdoor but there's no way I would be able to find out.

My cats doesn't have any business with trying to bury their poop because I don't know how it is going to be possible for them to do it inside the house where my entire house floor is tiled. They use use liter can all the time.

It was my grandma's cat that know how to bury her poop. I think it was because of the way she was trained by my granny. She was given the chance to live her life the way she wants.
