Having as many cats as I have over the years, something that I have come to realize is how some cats enjoy belly rubs but others will not tolerate them at all. I at first thought it was maybe a trust thing and it would be if they didn't trust you enough they would not allow you to rub their belly but it seems like it may just be a personal thing and some do like it whilst others do not.

Out of all the cats I have now, only one of them enjoys belly rubs and the others will not tolerate it at all and will scratch or bite to tell you not to do it so we do not even attempt anymore.

Does your cat enjoy belly rubs?

Whenever I adopt a new cat, something I always try is rubbing its belly to see if they like it. Any cat I have had has not enjoyed that at all so I don't bother doing it again after finding out whether they like it or not.

Smokey hated having her belly rubbed a lot of the time and the only time we ever noticed that she would tolerate it would be if she was really tired and just couldn't be bothered to stop us.

I feel if a cat stops you from rubbing their belly, it's a protective thing as they are always protective of that area.

All of my cats hate getting belly rubs. Whenever I tried it, they will squeeze and raise up their belly walking away instantly. It's a good thing they don't scratch or bite me in the process of trying to give them a good belly rub.

It's only one of my cat that enjoys belly rubs. The rest doesn't even like it when you touch their belly. They're very free with touching any other parts of their body from their face to their tail except their belly.

The only time my cat enjoy belly rubs is after they are done eating. They usually enjoy it because I think it helps with the digestion of their food. Once it's been hours that they have eaten, they are not going to allow you to touch them for any kind of belly rub.

Yeah, my cat always enjoys belly rubs. If I am being too busy with some other things I need to attend to, my cat will always come and drag me to rub her belly. Since I know it is something she enjoys, I will always give it to her.

It's only one of my kittens Lex that enjoys belly rubs. Clark doesn't like it one bit. If you tried it, he would walk away but if he's having a bad day, he would either hiss at you or claw you.

Smiley loves belly rub and it's really a nice thing for her. I will rub her belly after eating, after sleeping or whenever she feels like to play with me.

Yes, my cat enjoy belly rubs all the time and they also love snuggling whenever I am sitting down on the couch. I was trying to work in the morning, two of them just came up to my desk and wanted me to rub their belly, it was how I stopped working.
