I have always been freaked out whenever I hear that someone is going for an organ transplant. It can be for the liver, kidney, heart and so many more but the most common one is kidney.

Over 80% of those whom I know that got kidney transplant all died afterwards. This makes me to question if organ transplant is really effective in saving the patient who needed the new organ?

It is effective and being an organ donor saves lives. Even if there is no guarantee that the person will live until old age, whatever time they can get is worth it. Thats more time to enjoy life, accomplish goals and spend time with lived ones.

My best friend growing up had 2 kidney transplants in a matter of 10 years, unfortunately due to other health complications she ended up passing away at 27 years old. Thanks to her kidney transplants at 17, she enjoyed 10 years living life, graduated college, got a job and got married.

This story breaks my heart but also makes me happy in a way. Anyone who's not having any serious health issue that will require getting any organ transplant will never know how lucky he is. Getting extra 10 years is a big bargain at life after your friend's two kidney transplant.

No, I don't know anyone who was an organ donor but those who do it have all my respect because it's not easy to do such favors to the human race by trying to save lives in any way possible. God bless all organ donors out there.

Unfortunately, most of the people who I've seen gone for this transplant on the internet ended up not surviving. It is never easy whenever it gets to that point.

I don't know anyone personally who has had an organ transplant but I have heard of people who have had organ transplants.

I used to be creeped out as a child when I heard about things like this but as I have gotten older, I understand how important organ transplants are.

I don't know anyone personally who went through an organ transplant surgery but I've seen and watched a lot of videos online about people who successfully had either kidney transplant or heart transplant and it was successful.

I have not had someone who had an organ transplant. I have read a couple of stories where such happened, but I have never seen anyone who had an experience.

It haven't come to me or to anybody I know. It's only on videos that I have seen such. I have seen how people who had organ transplant are celebrated when they woke up. It's a really beautiful moments especially for family members.

I would say that fortunately, I don't know anyone who had an organ transplant whether it is my friend or a total stranger. I'm actually happy I don't have any kind of relationship or connection with such person because in one way or another, I will have to be involved in helping the personal out which might be challenging.

How can it be challenging to you? Helping the person out in monetary aspect or in the hospital isn't a challenge. The only challenge I will say is if the person didn't make it out from the theater.
