Best food recommendations for a cat with kidney disease?

It's very unfortunate that my brother's cat have been diagnosed with kidney disease. After that going to his vet, the doctor recommended getting royal canin kidney diet can food and tiki soft cat food.

His cat loved the food for about 3 weeks and stopped wanting to eat it again. This is making the cat to lose weight because he's not feeding well.

Do you have any good recommendations of food for cat's with kidney disease?

Royal Canin is supposed to be overall best cat food for kidney disease because it's low in phosphorus with controlled sodium, but other alternative is Purina veterinary or any other type of specialized diet made for kidney support. My advise is to feed the cat wet food and add several water bowls throughout the house, the cat needs lots and lots of water.

I have heard of Royal Canin in the past and many seem to have great things to say about it when it comes to food for a cat with kidney disease.

Anything recommended by a vet as well if very much a solid choice.
