    Smokey always loved her food. We used to feed her three meals a day, one in the morning, one in the afternoon/evening and one at night. Whenever she used to not eat, we always knew something was wrong.

    Cats can indeed be mean when they want to be but in some cases, they usually have a reason behind being mean. Smokey I don't ever recall being spiteful or mean unless she had a reason for doing so and that was usually if someone was bothering her or she was not feeling well.

    With Smokey, we used to find that she was more aggressive during the evening and in the night as opposed to in the morning or afternoon. We found it was because she was tired that she would be more aggressive during those times.

    Smokey used to be obsessed with food, so much so that she would try and get extra meals from others in the house. We had to make sure that we communicated in some way so that everyone knew that she had been fed so she wasn't over fed.

    If you found your cat in the kitchen trying to get into a draw it could have either been because they were curious or they could have been hungry.     I don't ever remember Smokey drinking more water during the winter but all cats are very much different and I would imagine some cats may drink more during the winter than during any other time of the year. Smokey always used to drink more during the warmer months.

    What kind of brush do you use on him? Is it a soft brush or more of a hard brush? I have found in the past that using a harder brush can sometimes cause discomfort and a softer brush may be better.

    Smokey in 2019 ended up with a urinary tract infection and it did worry us as she became very unwell with it. Luckily we caught it early and she made a full recovery. We worked out that it was due to stress after a cat in the neighbourhood came into the house.

    Whilst this may be the case, I have known people to make beds which are also a shelter for cats not only for their cats but also for stray cats as well. This is where making your cat bed could be a good idea and cheaper in the long run especially if you do not just make them for your cats.

    This is understandable. I have never taken a cat I have had out at all but I do know that people do it. I would always be wary about them being stepped on or knocked into and taking them in a backpack would make more sense to me.
