All cats we know are hunters but some of them usually don't bother and would much rather just chill and not bother hunting anything. On the other hand, you will always get cats that will enjoy hunting and will love to bring you home a present every now and again.

One of my cats is like this, every time they go out, they always bring back either a mouse or a bird for me as a gift as I say even though I do not want a half-eaten bird or mouse. They say that it's their way of showing appreciation for you looking after them so I never tell them off for it as I know it is only in their nature to hunt.

Do any of your cats like to hunt? What have they brought home to you?

When we had our cat, it was very rare that she would catch and bring anything home. I think the only time Smokey managed to catch anything and bring it home was a bird. I remember she came running into the house with the bird and ran up the stairs and into the bedroom under my son's bed to hide. We managed to get the bird from her and nurse it back to be able to fly off on its own. She never really bothered catching anything else.

All of the cats I've come across love to hunt. My two cats also loves doing it. Hunting is like a sports to them and they take it very serious. There was a time when one of them caught a rat, she didn't kill it but kept playing and toying with it.

In my experience with keeping cats for years, it's rare for me to see any cat which didn't have the little wildness in him or her when it comes to hunting. It's a natural instinct for them because they're born with it.
