Have you ever had to report someone for abandoning a cat?

It's unfortunate but it happens that people will get a cat as a kitten and then once they get older and are no longer a kitten, they will not want to know the cat anymore and end up abandoning the cat. This has got to be one of the cruelest ways to treat a cat that I have known. The cat never understands why they were abandoned and being left alone can make them very scared and nervous.

Have you ever known someone to abandon a cat and you have had to report them?

I have had to report a few people who abandoned cats in the past. Much of the time they would have moved home and just left the cat which I think is awful. I always give it some time to see if they come back for the cat and if not I report it.

I can never understand how someone could take a cat in or even bring a cat up just to move away and leave it behind without even a care in the world.

I always say that people should put themselves in the cat's shoes and think about how they would feel if that happened to them but most people just really do not care which is horrible.

A lot of the time I have found that it is usually because they get bored of them as they get older. When they are no longer kittens anymore they don't want to know. I think it's awful that people will treat a cat that way but there are some people who will do that.

My brother had a girlfriend once and she was just like that, would allow a cat to have babies and would keep them until they were a little older and then want to get rid of them and would allow her cat to have babies again. It's awful that there are people like that around.

She eventually moved and left the cat behind that she was using to get more kittens. We still to this day don't know what happened to that cat but I hope she never got another cat.

This is something which I'm planning on doing possibly by the end of this month. There's a guy who's living in my neighbourhood that maltreates his cat and it's becoming too unbearable for me to watch it happen all the time. I just need to gather more video proof to have him reported by the end of the month.

I really can not stand people like that, they really do look at cats as something that has no feelings and they just treat them how they wish. Hopefully, you are able to get more video evidence and report him for this and the cat ends up being placed somewhere loving.

Make sure you report the evil guy. I wouldn't mind confronting him myself if I were in your shoes because any delay might result in the cat's death. I tell people if you're not ready to take care of a cat, best take the cat to a shelter.

I hate when someone who owns a cat doesn't take care of them. It's an act I can never stand and that's why I've reported about 6 different people living in my neighbourhood for abusing, abandoning and not taking good care of their cats.

Personally, I wouldn't waste time to call in the authorities on someone who's not taking good care of their cats. If you're not capable of taking care of your pets, don't get them.
