I think your cat just views it as a toy. Maybe your cat needs some toys to play with you can work on that.

Spend time with them and play with them. Cats love cuddling too, have them in your space, on your bed and see them get closer to you.

The kitchen is out of bounds for Leo and he knows that. What I like about him is that once gesture to him about not doing something, he won't do it.
